The new software fixes voice search issues with the device

Mountain View-based Internet giant Google has started to deliver a new software update to the owners of a Nexus S smartphone, bringing the operating system on their devices up to version 2.3.6.

Apparently, the new software update was meant to bring along a series of enhancements and fixes to the voice search feature on Nexus S, along with various other security problems.

No other improvements were spotted on devices that have been upgraded, but users claim that things are as not as great as they might seem following the update.

The new OS update for Nexus S, which already arrived on a wide range of devices out there, did fix the issue it was supposed to fix, but created some others instead.

Users report issues with the WiFi and USB tethering capabilities of the mobile phone, though it seems that this problem might appear only in certain conditions.

This means that the owners of a Nexus S device eager to update to the new Android 2.3.6 version might want to consider holding off for a few days so that Google would have enough time to take a look into the said issues.

After all, it would be a shame for a software update that supposedly fixes an issue to actually create more of them.

As it usually happens with OTA updates, the new software will not be visible for all Nexus S devices out there at the same time, though Google already started pushing it out.

Those who would like to give the new OS flavor a try on their Google phones should perform manual checks and hope for the update to appear as available.

However, based on the reports from those who already installed the new software, it would be a good idea to actually stay away from it until Google resolves any issues residing within it. Stay tuned for more on this.
