Microsoft, as the video game publisher, and The Really Useful Group, a musical entertainment company, has signed an agreement linked to bringing the music of well known composer Andrew Lloyd Webber to the Lips music simulation title for the Xbox 360.

On August 13 gamers who are interested in the entertainment experience offered by Lips can get a new add on for it which includes the tracks: “Memory” sung by Elaine Paige from Cats; “All I Ask of You” performed by Cliff Richard & Sarah Brightman taken from Phantom of the Opera and “Love Changes Everything” by Michael Ball from Aspects of Love.

On September 10 another package of tracks is launched, including: “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” performed by Elaine Paige and taken from Evita; “The Phantom of the Opera” sung by Steve Harley & Sarah Brightman from Phantom of the Opera and “Any Dream Will Do” by Donny Osmond from Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Douglas Glen, the head of the digital division at The Really Useful Group, stated, “With the video gaming sector having evolved from its male-dominated roots towards a more family-oriented demographic, we’re very pleased to partner with Microsoft in releasing some of the best-known brands in musical entertainment to their global Lips audience.”

Dave McCarthy, the general manager of the Live services for Microsoft Game Studios, added, “We’re thrilled to bring the timeless and immensely popular music of Andrew Lloyd Webber to Lips players everywhere.”

Lips is Microsoft's answer to games like Karaoke Revolution and Sing Star, with the experience based around players singing along to various tracks, scored on six categories linked to vocal performance.

Lips does not actually allow gamers to fail a song, like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, even if they do not sing at all during the track. The game got mostly average reviews when it was launched.
