Andretti Racing (also known as Mario Andretti Racing) was originally released in 1994 for the
SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis. It was an early title in the newly-created EA Sports line, and was developed by Stormfront Studios. The game was produced by famed sports game developer Scott Orr as part of his collaboration with Richard Hilleman in the creation of EA Sports. Race driver Mario Andretti personally guided the development of the AI used by the non-player drivers in stock cars, Indy style open wheel racing, and dirt track racing, according to Wikipedia.
The paved tracks used in the game are caricatures of real tracks. The dirt tracks are too general in appearance to determine their origins. A second game, also called Andretti Racing, was released for the Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and PC in 1996 and that's the game we're offering cheats for today:
CHEAT CODES
Extra cars: Start a new race. Choose the "Begin Career" selection. Enter GO_BEARS! (for stock cars) or GO_BRUINS! (for formula one cars) at the "Register" screen.

In-race car modifications: Pause the game during a race. Enter the "Race Statistics" screen. Hold Circle and press X. A car editor menu with the following options will appear:

Note: some of these options can be set with a negative number.
