The Londoners from All England Club don't agree with saying good bye to one of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport that easily. American ace Andre Agassi began his last journey through Wimbledon's grass yesterday, after the rain devastated London a day earlier. The one who was going to step up to the challenge of beating him was Serbian Boris Pashanski. It was a rookie in the world of tennis but, considering the fact that most big surprises happen early in the tournament, everything was possible.

And the match started off bad for the American. The first set was announcing one of the
biggest blows in this year's tournament. Pashanski won the opener 6-2. The American, who announced his retirement earlier this week, was finding it hard to overcome the new kid on the block. Under the close watch of Steffi Graff, Agassi recovered well and, once he got it started, he never looked back.

The next 3 sets brought up a great Andre Agassi; the same one that we were seeing a couple of years ago. The same impeccable returns, the same incredible forehand and, most of all, a great will to win. We will soon find out whether these weapons will take him to the final. Still, what we can be sure of is that the Londoners will love him till the end. The final score, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-3, keeps him in the tournament. He will further on meet Andrea Seppi of Italy.

As his charismatic trainer is concerned - Brad Gilbert - he stated that Agassi is able to produce a stunning performance in this year's tournament. He agreed that his player was serious when he announced his retirement from the tennis world and that Wimbledon will certainly see the last of Agassi in these remaining 2 weeks - hopefully. "If he didn't think he could compete at this level he wouldn't be here. I would love nothing more than to see Agassi and Nadal play. It's almost like a changing of the guard", said Gilbert.

Rafael Nadal also had a good start at Wimbledon, beating Great Britain's Alex Bogdanovic in straight sets: 6-4, 7-6, 6-4. In case he will manage to overcome either Yen-Hsun Lu, or Robert Kendrick, a first "bomb" will explode at Wimbledon. A clash between Agassi and Nadal is scheduled in the third round.
