Nintendo Wii cheaper than Xbox 360 and PS3

Nintendo has revealed the price for its latest gaming console - Wii, which was recently launched during one of the most expected IT & C events of the year - Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), in Los Angeles.
It seems that Wii will be purchased at half the price of the PlayStation 3, being also cheaper than Microsoft's Xbox 360.

According to an announcement made yesterday by the company's representatives, "Wii will not exceed $250 in America, or 25,000 yen in Japan." It is said that the actual price will be $249, and that this sum will include the console and the motion sensitive controller, the E3 star.

The representatives added that Nintendo intends to ship the same amount of gaming consoles (more than six million units) as Sony with its upcoming PS3, but also other 17 million games, which will hit the retail market starting the beginning of this year's fourth quarter (Q4).

But, as you well remember, the company released another gaming console, this time a handheld - Nintendo DS Lite, which is, in fact, an enhanced new DS with a bigger stylus, double touch-sensitive screen, voice recognition and nice design.

The Wii and also the DS Lite are expected to increase the manufacturer's sales by 18% for the current fiscal year, which ends on 31 March.

Regarding the manufacturer's upcoming games, it seems that the company will not attack its competitors (Sony and Microsoft) with the same weapons, as Nintendo doesn't intend to focus on graphics or complexity, but simply on game experience, whatever that means.

Nintendo announced 27 games during E3, but it didn't reveal the prices and the release dates of the upcoming titles. More than that, a Nintendo official, cited by TG Daily, said that: "Exact launch dates, identification of the launch library of titles and details on the virtual console will be announced soon." These "small details" haven't been revealed until now, and, unfortunately, we don't expect a 'Nintendo enlightening' soon.

If you remember Mario, that little, chubby and nice character created by Nintendo a long time ago, and you also remember you liked it very much… I have some news for you … he is passing through 'plastic surgery' and will become a killer.

I am only kidding! Mario will be Mario, but its creator - Nintendo - will release other, more blood-spattered games such as 'EA's Madden NFL 07' developed by Tony Hawk, the 'father' of the well-known 'Final Fantasy'.

Madden '07 - Made by EA, Not Tony Hawk
Tony Hawk games - Made by Neversoft
Final Fantasy - Made by SquareSoft
