The development team at CreativeForge Games and publisher Paradox Interactive announce that they are working on a new real-time strategy with a big story element called Ancient Space, which will be launched on the PC in the fall of this year.

The title is single-player focused and allows the gamer to become the leader of a fleet that is exploring the Black Zone, faced with powerful and mysterious enemies who will test their tactical skills.

Ancient Space asks players to build units, upgrade them to improve their abilities, maintain their strength and then command them as the fleet battles pirates, aliens and more.

The cast of the coming RTS includes: John Billingsley, seen in "Star Trek: Enterprise" and "True Blood," Aaron Douglas from "Battlestar Galactica," Ron Glass from "Firefly," Richard Gunn known from "Dark Angel," Dina Meyer from "Starship Troopers" and "Star Trek: Nemesis," and Dwight Schultz, seen in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Voyager."

The choices that gamers make when choosing missions will have wide-ranging impact on the gameplay and the strategic challenges that they will face.

The images and trailer revealed by CreativeForge Games and Paradox Interactive look good, and it will be interesting to see whether a classic story-based RTS can capture the attention of a modern audience.
