The forest is located on Hawaii's Big Island, spans over 3,127 acres

I think I might have found the perfect Christmas present for myself: 3,127 acres of koa cloud forest. But, since I'm currently $22 million (€16.2 million) short, I'll let you have it.

The forest is located in Hawaii's Big Island, and the real estate brokers now trying to find someone willing to buy it describe it as the “third largest privately owned stand of old-growth koa on Earth.”

According to Huffington Post, the forest is home to about 5,000 trees belonging to species such as koa, ohia, mamane and hapuu. The trees are all native to the region.

The property, dubbed Ohana Sanctuary, is also home to several waterfalls, which brokers say make it “beyond beautiful.”

The bad news is that, if someone gets the right permits, harvesting is allowed in the area. This means that, if the wrong kind of people get their hands on the forest, its valuable koa trees could be turned into a cash cow.

Here's hoping that whoever buys the forest will choose to preserve rather than destroy it.
