SEGA, as the publisher, and PlatinumGames, as the developer, have announced that they will continue to collaborate and the creation of video games and that their next title is Anarchy Reigns, a multiplayer oriented brawler that it played from a third-person perspective.

Anarchy Reigns is at the moment set to be released on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony, with a launch window that will open at some point during the fall of 2011.

The two companies have not revealed any significant details about the upcoming game but they are boasting that modes like Tag Team and Battle Royal will be included in Anarchy Reigns, focusing on player versus players fights that push the boundaries of the brawler genre.

Gary Knight, who is a senior vice president in charge of marketing at SEGA West, has stated when the announcement was made, “SEGA are delighted to continue our collaboration with PlatinumGames, one of the most creative and critically acclaimed developers in the world. Anarchy Reigns is set to offer gamers a fresh multiplayer experience with the quality and innovation PlatinumGames are renowned for.”

In 2008 PlatinumGames and SEGA linked up and signed a deal linked to four titles.

One of them was the rather forgettable Nintendo DS based Infinite Space, which was praised for its epic narrative thread but was tough for player to master.

Madworld, the black and white and red action title launched for the Nintendo Wii, was set to prove that a mature, violent title could do well on the console, which traditionally catered to more casual gamers, but failed to find a big audience.

The collaboration also produced two significant successes: Bayonetta, an action game that arrived on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 and managed to charm gamers with its fluid action and its stylish protagonist, and Vanquish, a third-person shooter with a focus on fluid movement that arrived in the final months of 2010.
