Analysts watching the video game industry have predicted that the Xbox 360 home console from Microsoft will dominate sales for the month of November on the United States market in the NPD Group figures that will be released towards the end of the week.

In a note sent to investors Michael Pachter, who is the analyst working with Wedbush Morgan, has stated that he estimates that the Microsoft platform has managed to sell 1.44 million units during the month while EEDAR says that the number was closer to 1.3 million for the same period.

The Nintendo Wii home console is seen as taking second place in the video game hardware chart for November, with both analysis firm saying that it will sell just above 1 million consoles, a decrease of more than 17 percent when compared to last year.

Third place in the chart will be taken by the PlayStation 3 from Sony, which is estimated to have sold 750,000 units, an increase of about 45% over November 2010.

Wedbush Morgan says that the Nintendo 3DS has managed to move 760,000 handhelds to gamers during November while the more traditional DS line has dropped more than 50 percent to reach about 750,000 in sales.

The PlayStation Portable handheld is set to deliver sales totals that are smaller than those of the Nintendo DS line.

The estimates from Wedbush Morgan also talk about the overall value of video games sold during the November, saying that the total should reach 1.5 billion dollars (1.12 billion Euro), an increase of about 3 percent over 2010, the third consecutive month of growth.

When it comes to individual titles the biggest seller will probably be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 from Infinity Ward and Activision, with second place being a tossup between The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda and Battlefield 3 from DICE and Electronic Arts.
