Tencent is citing Chinese analyst Sun Chyang Xu as saying that Apple is already making the first iPhone 6 units in what he refers to as “trial production,” before mass production begins in May.

“‘International Electronic Business’ Chief Analyst Sun Changxu microblogging disclosed that Apple iPhone 6 that there are two versions, one with a 4.7 inches touch screen resolution is not high, now trial production, and the next May also started two million to three million of production.”

I know, these Google translations don't make too much sense at times, but you get the idea: iPhone 6 with 4.7-inch display enters trial production; mass production begins in May; three millions units planned for the first shipment.

The report also cites the analyst as saying that Apple has another iPhone, this time sporting a 5.7-inch display, planned for release later in 2014. Which sounds fairly sketchy. Two events for two different iPhones is not Apple’s style. Not that the rest of the report sounds any more plausible.
