Sales will stay on the same level as in the second quarter of the year

Based on expectations and past marketing performances, companies can take decisions that will affect their future.

That's one of the main reasons why market analysts bother to periodically publish their research results, since consumers rarely read such things.

Anyway, according to some, hard drives will neither impress nor disappoint anyone during the third quarter of 2013.

Although considering the gradual drop in demand, this might actually be a positive outcome, if it happens.

The reason things haven't picked up is because, with Windows 8 and Intel's new CPUs failing to revive PC demand, desktop HDDs and 2.5-inch laptop drives have taken a hit.

Then again, there are some curiosities: HDD demand is weak, but 320 GB models are in short supply, possibly hinting at a price increase in the future.
