A lot of rumors have been appearing lately about the rumored successor for the Nintendo Wii, which a French website 01net has dubbed Project Cafe, and, even though the project is not yet announced, analysts have begun speculating about it as if it was.

Jessie Divnich, who is an analyst for EEDAR, has said that, “Its successor’s name will not include the word ‘Wii'.”

The analyst believes that the launch of the Wii, the way Nintendo has developed the home console over the years and the video games line up which arrived on the device have all alienated the core gamers and that the company wants to recapture it with its next hardware project.

Divnich has also predicted that the new Nintendo home console will cost between 299 and 346 dollars on launch day, but added that his prediction could be off the mark because of the limited knowledge that he has about the components of the new device.

The information that emerged in the last few days suggests that Nintendo might be preparing a new controller for the Wii follow up, including a touchscreen of about six inches which will help with input for games.

The Project Cafe is also supposed to offer full High Definition graphics and more storage space to the Nintendo faithful.

The rumors are also talking about a console which will have about the same computing power as the current version of the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, with an internal architecture that will allow for games to be easily ported.

There are also rumors that Rockstar is working with Nintendo to create games for the new device, which will probably help attract a more hardcore crowd.

Nintendo has not offered any comment on the rumors, but an announcement could come as soon as the E3 trade show, with the launch taking place next year.
