The only big performer will be Injustice: Gods Among Us

Cowen and Company, an analysts firm watching the progress of the video game industry, believes that video games sales on the North American market will continue to decline until the launch of Madden NFL 25.

Doug Creutz is cited by GamesIndustry.biz as telling investors in a research note that the biggest problem for the coming period is the lack of big name launches.

For the month of April, NPD Group numbers are expected to decline by 13 percent when compared to the same period in 2012.

Cowen believes that only one game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, has the potential to sell more than 250,000 units during the month.

The August launch of Madden NFL 25 is expected to push the industry up in terms of sales and they will further rebound after that as the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox 720 from Microsoft are released.
