Sony’s Xperia Z smartphone is set to land on shelves as a fairly appealing handset, and it seems that it will also be able to perform accordingly.

The handset has been recently benchmarked in AnTuTu, where it scored 16,954, a result in line with what quad-core Android devices can deliver, GSMInsider notes.

Although the device did not manage to leave rivals such as Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II or LG Nexus 4 behind in this benchmarking test, it will still be able to provide users with an appealing experience, that’s for sure.

The phone will hit the market starting with the next month, packing a 5-inch full HD screen, said quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, front camera for video calling, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.
