From time to time, I happen to stumble upon audio gadgets that are truly worth writing a few words about; and each time, it's something different that makes me look closer: an interesting shape design, functionality, color management or the very idea of that respective object. Now, it's time to introduce you to an iPod dock that could be your salvation when you're looking for a gift idea but the funds are rather limited: the Skullcandy Pipe iPod dock.

Almost everybody has an iPod these days; and if it's not an iPod, it's another MP3 player. And everybody who owns such audio gadgets is supposed to be a music listener - this is the basic idea on which the design of the Skullcandy Pipe has set forth.

There are places where you'd like to listen to your fav tunes, but the very conditions aren't that supportive as far as musical purposes are concerned. For example, the kitchen: it's hard to believe that you'll be cooking while wearing your MP3 player in a pocket and with the headphones on... it's so close to utter ridiculous that I’d rather stop picturing such a sight.

Instead of becoming seriously laughable, you could go for a speaker system to accommodate your player and look very cool; and the Pipe from Skullcandy will definitely have your job done. A speaker and dock system for your Apple player that's easy to install, easy to move around the house and even carry within your luggage as you travel.

The Skullcandy Pipe looks like a tube, with skull-painted grilles on each end, coming in three different finished, aiming to suit any taste. You can go for the wooden imitation, the matte black one or for the fingerprint-friendly chromed surface version. Thanks to its diminutive footprint, the Skullcandy Pipe will surely find a place in almost any setting, whether we're talking mantelpieces, shelves or even tabletops.

This neat audio dock can also work with iPhones, if that's the path you decided to tread. Adding in the price under $60 in major stores, it looks like the Skullcandy Pipe can definitely save you in difficult gift-related situations; or it can make your day when looking for a nifty audio gadget for your own nest.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
