OK, so you've finally broken the piggy bank and bought yourself a nifty piece of Apple technology in the form of the nicest iPod you've ever dreamed of. What's next? Of course, some neat aftermarket headphones to enhance the acoustic bliss and... a top-drawer docking system with speakers to let you enjoy your player while at work or at home, set your iPod on display and charge it at the same time. So, if you feel like having all this in one nifty package, the Octopus iPod speaker system might very well be one of the most stylish ways to do it!

This octopus/star-shaped speaker dock comes from China (anyone expected something else?) and, as far as the pictures show, it looks like it has been crafted with a lot more attention to details and finishing than your everyday, common Chinese crappy plastic. If you're thinking minimal space as the only you could spare on your desktop, it's possible that the Octopus is not the best choice, given its rather spread-out design.

The Octopus is loaded with dual 36mm speakers capable to drive as much as 3W each in 4 Ohms impedance, with a frequency range between 300Hz and 18kHz - not exactly the Hi-Fi standard but, either way, well enough for the proposed functionality. The orange trim of this dock will most likely integrate pretty well in most decors and will be a neat addition to your bedroom and office alike.

Now, the Octopus hasn't been designed for the latest iPods only: it can easily be used with any other MP3 player thanks to the Aux-In jack and the supplied line input cable - just hook your player up, and there you go! The Octopus-shaped docking system also sports an USB to mini USB cable, power adaptor and, of course, an instructions manual.

The product is listed for sale on the Alibaba website but the Sichuan Jiuzhou Electric Corp, its manufacturer, makes no mention of its price. Nevertheless, it simply can't be more than a few bucks. And yes, it looks damn cool!
