The Iron Radio Alarm Clock can fool you at a first glance

Some gadgets are really cute, while others are truly useful or plain meaningless – and then there are those that are as cute as they are meaningless. And if you can't picture one in your mind right now, let us introduce to you the Iron Radio Alarm Clock, one of those thingies you usually buy even though they're one of the last items you'd ever need. Long story short, we're talking about a small turquoise iron, fitted with a short cord and looking very neat and tidy. When looked at for the first time, this small toy could be easily mistaken for a diminutive travel iron that's just perfect to stow away among your clothes in your bags.

Yet, this couldn't be further from the truth, as you'll actually be looking at a very neat alarm clock disguised as one such item. Just turn it around and you'll see the LCD screen with fairly large lettering.

There's no word whether this display is backlit, but we'd rather say it isn't, and this could be a setback for the potential clients, making reading technically impossible in dark environments. We didn't see any snooze button and this might be the second thing missing.

Nevertheless, if we add the FM radio tuner inside the Iron Radio Alarm Clock, things may begin to look a bit better. We really doubt that this gadget has been created to enforce your early waking up. It looks more like it has been intended to be a funny presence on your desktop, making all those who enter your office gaze and wonder.

Finally, you can use the Iron Radio Alarm Clock as an iPod speaker, connecting the mini-plug at the end of the cord to your Apple player and to pretty much any compatible music source, such as MP3 players, portable gaming consoles, CD players, and so on. The gadget runs on 2 AA batteries and can be yours for the cool price of $18.75.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
