Dragontech is a small Taiwanese hardware manufacturing company that specializes on network appliances like routers, gateways and so on. Their latest product is an "all-in-one network solution", just what you need to design and implement your very first home network. The ioBox-1000 is designed to eliminate network servers and to centralize them, and in doing so, it can be used as a wireless router, firewall, and VPN, as well as a mail, FTP and printer server. The small, odd looking, funny colored box can also act as a domain host, giving its users access to quasi-unique domain names and it includes a p2p blocker and filter.

Apart from the hardware part, the ioBox-1000 from Dragontech comes bundled with a software suite for network configuration (ioBox Wizard) and management (ioBox Commander). As both applications use a Web based interface and they are designed with user comfort in mind, setting up or managing a network will be "a breeze" according to the Dragontech Web site.

Dragontech's ioBox-1000 has a list of pretty impressive features like Dynamic Domain Name Service (for quasi-unique domain names based on the templates "serial_number.ioboxusers.com or your_company.ioboxusers.com"), Web server with support for "MySQL databases, PHP scripting language and multiple domain names", p2p blocker and filter as well as an anti-DoS feature in order to prevent network-based attacks, an e-mail server with anti-spam engine based on customizable rules.

Among the low level features expected from every router worthy of its name, the Dragontech's ioBox-1000 offers a DHCP integrated server for easier networking connectivity, both static and dynamic routing as perfect companions for a Virtual Private Network that supports technologies like PPTP, L2TP and IPSEC. The ioBox-100 also comes with some "bonus" characteristics that allow its users to live a better computing experience: one USB port for web camera surveillance, RAID 1 for protecting data with mirroring technology and a firmware upgradable design to ensure that all new technologies and security patches are delivered on time.
