Epson launched the PoweLite Cinema Home 20 projector, which will come at an affordable price for the functions it offers.

PoweLite Cinema Home 20 is a 3LCD projector that comes packed with all the features needed by entry level users and also video enthusiast that want to watch movies in a big format. Moreover, the 999 USD projectors are easy to use for video games, televised events or connection to PCs.

The small form factor and elegant design make PoweLite Cinema Home 20 an ideal and easy to install projector, also offering portability. The device can be sat on a table or can be moved in different rooms. Moreover, you can take it with you to special events or in various locations.

PoweLite Cinema Home 20 offers 1200 ANSI Lumens and a 1000:1 contrast rate. The Epson 3LCD technology brings rich and clear colors, using 8 bytes for every color, totaling over 16.7 million colors. The optical/offset lenses are easy to adjust, adapting to the space they are projecting, for not distorting the image.

The new Epson projector uses a display system for images with three LCD panels, also known as 3LCD. 3LCD Group is formed by six projectors producers: Fujitsu, Hitachi, Panasonic, Sanyo and Sony, together with Epson - the leader, which gives the licensing logo for other companies.

3LCD is a projection system, an alternative to DLP, which uses three LCD panels, known also as HTPS (High-Temperature PolySilicon). Images projected with 3LCD are brighter, natural and comfortable for the human eye. 3LCd uses dichroic mirrors for splitting the lamp's white light in its red, green and blue components. Each color is then sent through its own LCD panel and at the end recombined by a prism. The projected result is a clear and detailed image.

Epson PoweLite Cinema Home 20 is expected at the beginning of 2006 at a 999 USD price, but the device can be also bought from the producer's page, right now.
