The 18.2 version of Intel’s Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Controller driver is now available for download. The released files are compatible with both bit versions of all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems, starting from XP.

The download record consists of 8 executable files, one for either 32- and 64-bit versions, and for each of the compatible Windows platforms. Moreover, the 18.2 GbE driver is targeted only at some of Intel’s Desktop boards.

The list of supported products for this release varies depending on the operating system that you have, and is provided through the download page of each of the 8 available files.

While the Windows Vista OS supports only desktop boards that are mostly compatible with the other platforms as well, in addition to that, the remaining operating systems can use other types of devices like Next Unit of Computing boards or kits.

Moreover, the 18.2 GbE driver does not support the Intel 82552 10/100 and 82567V-3 Gigabit network connections.

Furthermore, for tips on troubleshooting Ethernet issues related to the desktop boards’ LAN feature, Intel can help you through the Troubleshooting Network Issues.
