Amy Winehouse has been laid to rest. In a small ceremony only for family members and fans, her body has been cremated. The ceremony ended with her father, Mitch Winehouse’s words “Goodnight my angel, sleep tight.”

The British singer, who was just as famous for her incredible music as she was for her troubled personal life, was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday afternoon.

An autopsy failed to establish the exact cause of death, which will be determined when toxicology results come in in 2 to 4 weeks.

After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family with permission to bury it. Winehouse’s rep Chris Goodman says for the Daily Mail that her funeral service was celebration of her life and immense talent.

“Mitch was funny, he told some great stories from her childhood. It was a celebration. He stressed many times that she had been more content than she had been in years. Mitch paid tribute to a lot of people from Amy’s life,” Goodman says.

The rep also confirms that Amy and boyfriend Reg Traviss were still together at the time of her death – even more, they were making plans for the future.

“Mitch said that they were very much looking forward to their future together,” Goodman explains.

“Mitch’s last words to Amy in his eulogy were ‘Goodnight my angel. Sleep tight. Mummy and Daddy love you ever so much’,” a friend who was at the funeral shares for the same media outlet.

He confirms that Mitch told everybody that he’d never seen Amy as happy as she seemed in her last days and that he attributed that to Reg, who remains inconsolable in his loss.

Family, friends, collaborators and people whom Amy touched in one way or another came to pay their respects to the singer whose talent and genius, as Piers Morgan put it, could only be matched by her terribly self-destructive personality.

“Amy will be carried in peoples’ hearts,” said her father.
