“I don’t think she brings anything to it,” Mitch Winehouse says

Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” comes with a score put together by Jay-Z, at Luhrmann’s request. It also includes a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” by Beyonce and Andre 3000.

You can listen to a sample from it in the trailer above, right at the beginning. It’s different than Amy’s version but sounds just as good.

Though fans of Amy Winehouse reacted positively to it, her father, Mitch, isn’t really that impressed.

“I don’t think she brings anything to it,” he tells the Daily Mail.

“I wasn’t asked for my permission if they could record it,” he explains, before adding that he was consulted afterwards.

“They have got to pay for the privilege, which is what they are doing. I can’t tell you how much it is but it’s a lot of money,” Mitch adds.

“The Great Gatsby” will be out in May, with the full OST hitting stores at around the same time. We’ll know then if Mitch’s statement is some sort of sour grapes type of situation, or if he has solid reasons to say those things.
