Amy Winehouse Will Record a Duet with Pete Doherty

Today is "good news" day, and I'm officially happy to report that it's safe to put "Amy Winehouse" and "Pete Doherty" in the same sentence without following them up with such words as "crack", "crack-head" or "overdose". No, this time it's no saucy scandal or raunchy rumor. The troubled but extremely talented Amy has teamed up with the Babyshambles front man and the two have already recorded a duet.

No additional information has been released yet as to the title of the song, but there are rumors that the collaboration between the two equally controversial singers has been an excellent one. The "Back to Black" singer and the Babyshambles star recently recorded the track in question, and we hear that Amy will not only showcase her impressive singing talents, but will also prove that she also has excellent guitar playing skills. Mick Whitnall, who plays guitar in Pete's band, stated that "it's a ska-type track. Amy's playing guitar on it and singing as well. She plays better than James Brown playing acoustic guitar. She thinks she's s**t but she's not. I've never met a man who plays like that, let alone a girl".

This is really good news - and despite her troubled personal life, no one has ever denied the fact that Amy is an incredibly talented singer, so I'm pretty sure people will love to hear more of her on the professional front. And while her drug addiction is still a fact, she has been trying to stay clean over the past weeks. Plus, Doherty is also said to be clean after a six-week rehab stint for his own destructive drug addiction.

So, people, let's forget about the rumors that paired up Doherty and Wino, let's forget (for a while at least) about their troubled personal lives and just enjoy the music. And just to prove that Amy Winehouse has never ceased to be popular, it was recently revealed that George Michael is also on the list of famous singers who want to record a duet with Amy. "I have written a song for Amy and I hope she likes it. I would love us to record it together, but we will have to see what she says", Michael says. So, what else can we say at this stage except, way to go, Amy - and looking forward to hearing the songs. I have a feeling they'll be really good.
