Amy Winehouse and her less than precarious lifestyle have often been tabloid fodder, with the singer being constantly criticized for not being able to stick to a drug- and alcohol-free life. Fresh back in London after an extended holiday in St. Lucia, Amy is finally making the first step towards better health, turning to Melanie’s Brown “Totally Fit” DVD for some help, reports in the British media have it.

According to FitCeleb, Amy has decided to kick her drug addiction once and for all, and is resorting to a challenging workout to help her stay focused, while also turning the little weight she has gained while vacationing into muscle mass, as word in the industry has it. So far, she has reportedly settled for Melanie Brown’s fitness DVD, hailed as one of the best workout videos of the last year, and will presumably also try to personally contact Mel B, also known as Scary Spice, for some personal training tips.

“During her vacation, Winehouse piled pounds onto her skinny frame – but she will turn the extra weight into firm muscle with the help of superfit Scary Spice’s new ‘Totally Fit’ workout DVD. The fitness DVD was among the bags of shopping delivered to Winehouse’s home in Barnet, north London on Wednesday.” FitCeleb informs. At the same time, it is being said, the workout plan will help Amy concentrate on healthy living and, hopefully, find some balance in her so-far chaotic life.

Melanie Brown’s “Totally Fit” DVD includes, according to the same source, “a four-week plan, for all fitness levels, to create sculpted abs, lean legs and firm arms – and boasts a nutrition scheme to promote healthy eating.” When it was released in 2008, it quickly became a best-seller both in the UK and the US because it did not require any previous experience, was relatively easy to follow and also returned the promised results.

“This assumes no experience and gives excellent basic, practical advice for beginners. The only equipment needed is a broomstick for stability work and some bottles of water or cans for weights. Fun and easy to follow.” A review of the fitness DVD read at the time of the release. Most specialized publications have rated Melanie’s “Totally Fit” a 10 out of 10, which means that Amy Winehouse couldn’t have made a better choice in terms of finding a “helper” to have a healthier life.
