In case you were worried about her, never fear - Amy Wino is back in the party zone with a vengeance. The talented singer - whose latest success was winning the Best Album Q Award for her "Back to Black" two nights ago - made an appearance (that is, partied all night) last night in London and at first glance she looked a different person altogether.
Gone were the jeans and (occasionally blood stained) ballet pumps. Gone were the plain T-shirts and tunics. That revolting beehive was still firmly in place, though - but Amy Winehouse looked every inch a lady as she arrived at Knightsbridge store Harvey Nichols for the launch of a new restaurant called The Row, the night after she was a no-show at the Q Awards.
The party was hosted by the creepy twins known as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Wino apparently quite enjoyed it, as she didn't leave until the early hours. She wore a metallic orange and gold designer dress and high heels, and sported an olive green trench coat. What can I say - she almost looked nice, and it was even better that she arrived without her side-kick druggie of a husband. However, the couple apparently met up during the evening as they were seen leaving together around 2.30 at night.
But on closer inspection, Amy couldn't do anything to makeover her scarred and scabbed hands which were revealed to be red, raw, scarred, and with her thumb looking particularly scabbed. We all know that Amy admitted to self-harming in the past, and this latest sighting of her darker side sends me back to those photos we saw of her in August and September, when she was sporting blood-stained shoes and a heavily swollen and throbbing middle finger.
So the question is, is Amy still hooked on drugs and alcohol? Apparently yes, seeing that when Amy and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil left the party between 2 and 3 in the morning Amy certainly didn't look as hot as when she arrived, as she had yet again changed into jeans and a white vest and she walked stumbling into her North London home. And despite her apparently looking better, it's back to the same routine, as again we come to realize that no one can tell Amy what to do. And as if to underline this fact, Amy recently got a new tattoo on her inner arm which reads "Never clip my wings".
