Amy Wino has got to be Britain's top freak at the moment. The talented but deeply troubled singer, who is famous for her drug and booze addiction, managed to pull another stunt that stunned - not to mention shocked - all those around her. No, don't worry, she hasn't overdosed - yet, and if she had done it, I would have definitely not taken this light tone. No, it's something a little funnier, but also extremely weird - just like Amy herself. Not to mention a bit disgusting. OK, this is what went down
Two days ago, Amy went AWOL at the Q Awards in London, despite winning the Best Album prize for her excellent "Back to Black". The organizers had in fact gone to great lengths to make Amy's Q experience as pleasant as possible, and even granted her a £10.000 after party budget to satisfy her wildest wishes. And while this caused some concern, seeing how Amy is a notorious drunk and a drug addict, it was even more suspicious and worrisome when the singer was no-show and someone else had to go on stage to collect the trophy. The fact is, Amy's wild behavior is up to a point encouraged by the music industry - only this time, the outcome was a little more than weird.

The fact is, Wino snubbed the top Q Award ceremony after she was reportedly sick - despite winning the best album prize. Instead, her 'Valerie' duet partner DJ Mark Ronson collected the Q Award prize for her album Back To Black, and told the crowd: "That's Amy - taking her pain and turmoil and making it into the music we enjoy". Yes, well, it looks like Amy was in some turmoil herself, otherwise she would have showed up. I wonder if she might actually be detoxing. I sure hope so. But back to the story. Ronson collected her award - and at some point, the trophy went missing, only to be found dumped in the toilets of a central London bar.
The award was discovered by Andrew Morris, the General Manager of Bar Soho in London. He said, "I was exceptionally surprised to find the award. In the state that she's in these days I'm sure she doesn't care too much. I'm sure the Q awards wouldn't be too happy it's been left in a bar. If she's getting an award she should really be there to pick it up".
Yes, well, we all agree to that, but the question is, how did the award end up in the bathroom? I know, it's pretty tempting to imagine Ronson handed it to Wino who went drinking and partied so hard she left the thing right next to the toilet in which she puked for half the night - but I have a better theory. I think the poor trophy had a vision of what life will be like in a few years, when a broke Amy will be selling all her possessions (awards included) in order to get some extra money for a cheap fix - and simply wanted to get away from the madness. But in a most unlucky twist of fate, it ended up in the toilet in question. Yes, that makes sense. Tough luck!
