British singer Amy Winehouse cancels entire comeback tour to focus on her health

Fans waiting to catch Amy Winehouse live on tour this summer will be disappointed to hear that they will no longer be able to do that: after a horrible opening night in Belgrade, Serbia, the singer has canceled the entire tour.

Winehouse, whose history with alcohol and drug abuse is well documented, made a complete fool of herself in what the Serbian media dubbed the “worst concert ever” to take place in the country, as we also informed you yesterday.

After the disastrous performance, Amy’s camp canceled the two dates she was supposed to play this week – so it was to be expected for the same to happen with the rest of the tour.

“Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances,” a spokesperson for the British singer says in a statement cited by Reuters.

“Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen,” the rep adds.

The statement doesn’t say whether Winehouse is back in rehab already or at least making plans to head to such a facility as soon as possible, but one can assume that’s where she’ll be for the next few weeks.

As we also noted the other day, Winehouse disappointed the many fans who had come to see her perform on the opening date of her comeback tour.

Not only was she so intoxicated that she could hardly stand, but she didn’t remember the words to her own songs, which means the fans and the backup singer did most of the job for her.

Throughout the entire concert, which was quite painful to watch, according to eyewitnesses, Amy would repeatedly go backstage and then come back on the stage rubbing her nose and seeming even more out of it than before, which, understandably, prompted lots of speculation about her doing heavy drugs again.

As noted above, Winehouse’s whereabouts and exact condition remain unknown for the time being. For more details on that, keep an eye on this space and we’ll keep you updated.
