Despite her notorious hard partying and copious dug intake, Amy Winehouse is a fantastically talented singer, as we all had a chance to remember only too well at the Mercury Prize award ceremony, when she left the whole room breathless with her performance of "Love Is a Losing Game". And of course, the fame that Amy won over the past years has come accompanied by a good deal of cash. Which, it has been revealed, is all at the hands of Amy's husband Blake, who is unemployed and whose favourite pass time is...you guessed it, spending his rich wife's money.
A friend of Blake's stated a couple of weeks ago that Blake only had to pay for one thing ever since he met Amy, for the drinks on the day when the couple met on a pub in Camden. Ever since, things have been going downhill for Blake, who is rumored to have returned to Amy, whom he had left for a former girlfriend, after the singer's second album, "Back to Black" became a huge success and brought her a correspondingly huge paycheck. Drug abuse, as we all know, is an expensive hobby and Amy's friends have hinted many times that Blake is after the money more than he's in love with Amy herself.
Over the past week, some worrying facts came to light and Amy's father Mitch, her manager and her record label sought legal advice after rumors surfaced that Blake wants to take up management of Amy's career himself. "Amy just hands everything over to him" says a source close to the two. "And even worse Blake has been going around telling his mates that he's soon to take over managing her". Which would give Fielder-Civil total control over Amy's money and would put him in a position to destroy her career.
Amy writes her own materials and owns her house in Camden. Her fortune is currently evaluated at about 5 million pounds, but it could be worth twice as much in as little as one year, due to the immense success that her record has had in the States. Just imagine how much cocaine you can buy with all that money - and Amy's dad Mitch is worried that if the money stay in Amy's (that is, Blake's) possession, the two will end up overdosing and killing each other. He is seeking legal advice to see if there's any means by which Amy can be cut off from her cash to prevent Blake from using it to buy drugs. We really hope he succeeds - but with Blake out there keen on getting his fix, that's going to be a pretty tricky job. Hope they have a good lawyer.
