14 DAY TRIAL // The Knotts Berry Farm Wind Seeker stopped functioning at the Buena amusement park, in California, leaving 20 riders stranded for hours.
The incident happened on Wednesday, with the ride stopping at around 4 p.m. The video shows it was dark outside by the time park attendants managed to get the ride working again.
Children, teenagers and adults alike were stuck in the air for 3 and a half hours waiting for assistance. As if that was not enough to make someone panic, camera crews started flying around them in helicopters, trying to get footage of those on the ride.
The official statement made by Buena park spokesmen read that “a safety security system activated, causing the ride to come to a halt.”
Some enjoyed the view and watched the sunset; some basked in media attention, even waving to the cameras, while others, as young as twelve, just lay terrified waiting for help.
Thankfully, no passenger was hurt as the ride came to an end.
