Amp'd Mobile and Electronic Arts Inc., one of the world's biggest video game company, announced a publishing partnership that will enable users to download more than 15 EA mobile games to Amp'd handsets early this year.

The EA games for offer will include "Madden NFL 06," "Need for Speed
Underground 2" and "The Sims 2" as well as casual games such as "Poppit!" and "Tri-Peaks Solitaire" from EA's Pogo.com online gaming service, which could be more than mildly addicting on a cellphone.

Amp'd Mobile is renting space on the Verizon Wireless network and targeting young adults with its new advanced high-speed wireless service. Amp'd Mobile also states that it will actually build a dedicated game channel around the EA brand, letting users get their video previews, user ratings and other content as well in addition to game downloads. The video part of the service will be provided by MTV Networks, which is an investor in Amp'd, and thus will provid it with video clips and other content.

There is still no word of the price and the exact date of the availability.
