Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a serious contender for the title of the most terrifying game ever developed and now it’s on sale, through Steam on Linux.

Frictional Games have made a name for themselves with the Penumbra series – Penumbra: Overture, Penumbra: Black Plague, and Penumbra: Requiem. Over time they have perfected a type of horror game that has no real competitor.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent feels almost like a nightmare. The player wakes up in a strange place and is forced to escape a castle that will provoke a fear response at every corner.

This is one of the first games announced for Steam on Linux and now it benefits from the Steam Winter Sale. It’s available for purchase with 50% discount and the offer will stand until January 5.
