American Idol judges were stunned to hear that the public voted for Pia Toscano to go home when almost everybody seemed to assume she’d win this season. As it turns out, it could be that Pia’s having the last laugh, since she’s already started work on her debut album.

In other words, with or without American Idol, Pia will get to see her dream come true, because she already has a record label, PopEater speculates.

One day after the shocking elimination, Pia was photographed going into a meeting with record label bosses, prompting talk that she may not live to be sorry for the day she was voted off the show.

“While her former competitors on the hit series keep on warbling for votes, Toscano has moved at lightning speed to capitalize on her new fame, and make her mark in the music industry,” PopEater says.

“The New York native, 22, is reportedly entering the recording studio as soon as possible to lay down tracks on a debut album, thanks to a brand new contract with Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope label,” adds the publication.

Sources confirm that Pia is nearly signed to a label and that she’s already at work on her debut album, which she wants to put out there as soon as possible.

“Pia is being signed to a deal with Interscope Records, who are rushing her into the studio to record an album ASAP,” says one spy who claims to be well in the know.

“Starting [Thursday] night, after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her, and first thing [Friday] morning, Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it,” the insider adds.

The only thing that’s missing now is Pia’s name on the dotted line, because everything else is pretty much settled.

“Papers are being finalized. It’s basically a done deal. She’s signing. They rushed everything, but she’s so excited,” the spy dishes.

If true, this would come to confirm what fans have been saying since she left AI: with a voice like hers, she doesn’t even need to win the show, because she will be famous either way.
