Another celebrity reports having their Twitter account hacked. This time, the victim is Terry McMillan (@MsTerryMcMillan), the famous American author best known for “Waiting to Exhale” and “How Stella Got Her Groove Back.”

“To my followers: my account has been hacked by racists who have nothing better to do with their time. Twitter is investigating. Got them,” McMillan wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

“They have said some of the most vile, racist, insulting things I've ever seen on Twitter,” she added.

Over the past days, hackers have managed to hijack the Twitter accounts of Kevin Bacon, German footballer Mario Götze, and American musician Nick Santino.

The accounts of organizations, such as Indian airline IndiGo, and the Queensland Police, have also been compromised.

While in most cases the hijacked accounts are used to send out spam, in some situations the attackers are simply trolls.
