A man fell off the boat at America's Cup catamaran competition this weekend, leaving the Oracle team missing a member.

According to the Mirror, Joey Newton is the crewman to have slid off, as you can see in the clip attached to this article.

The incident has occurred just before the first race in the contest, held in San Francisco Bay, on the finals’ first day.

You can see the crewman running and trying to remain on the boat. As the vessel's speed increases, he slips off and hits the water.

He was disqualified and Larry Ellison's Oracle Team USA was left with 10 members. As a result, the Emirates Team New Zealand ended up winner of the competition.

According to the New Zealand Herald, Oracle would have to win ten more races to claim the America's Cup. The New Zealand team only need six more wins.
