In the Super Bowl Ads race, Britney Spears not only got a beating from her former best friend Paris Hilton (who, you know, is like a smaller trainwreck than the 'Toxic' girl) but also from her estranged and ridiculed soon to be former hubby. Mind you, we're not talking here about any kinds of commercials, but about the most expensive television slot ever... like, in the entire history of the 'moving box'!
Because someone has to pay for that bachelor pad, Kevin Federline took his lazy ass out of bed and went looking for a job. What he found instead was the best thing that could ever happen to him (other than getting back with Brit Brit): a contract with one of the biggest advertisers of the Super Bowl, Nationwide Mutual Insurance.
Nationwide Insurance previous ads are all tagged with 'Life Comes At You Fast' and, among their many commercials using faded or fading celebrities (with enough sense of humor as to make fun of their own situations) we could list those two that feature rapper MC Hammer and model Fabio, which garnered universal acclaim.
This is exactly the thing that K-Fed has in abundance: sense of humor and, as of lately, the ability to mock the situation he got himself into. 'I felt that it was a good time to come out and make fun of myself', Federline told the press when he was spotted stepping out of the recording studio, after working on the sound of the new ad.
Usually, Nationwide Insurance likes to keep the content of the commercials a secret and the only information the public ever has access to is that referring to the stars that appear in them and a few general lines about the plot, so as to tease the public. This time too is no exception: K-Fed will be seen first in the studio, working on a sizzling rap song and then, 15 minutes later, daydreaming in a fast-food joint, while waiting for the french-fries to be done.
'It's perfect for Nationwide, and it really works for me. I try not to take myself too seriously.', K-Fed also said. He refused to disclose any other details about the ad but I guess it's useless to describe the kind of anticipation that surrounds it... After all, even if it turns out to be half as good as the one with MC Hammer, it would still rock!
