Windows Phone enthusiasts that own the Lumia 720 smartphone will be happy to know that Nokia is now prepping the long-awaited Amber update for their devices.

According to MyNokiaBlog, the Amber update, which was pushed to Lumia 920 smartphones last month, is now available for Nokia Lumia 720 as well.

However, this is not an OTA (over the air) update. Instead, Lumia 720 owners will have to manually download the Amber update via Nokia Software Updater and flash it on the smartphone.

Keep in mind that everything stored on the phone will be deleted, so we recommend doing a backup of all your personal information, pictures and video before upgrading to Amber.

Obviously, those who don’t want to manually flash the Amber update on their Lumia 720 devices can wait for Nokia to roll it out OTA (over the air) in the coming weeks.
