“Two and a Half Men” is set to return with a new season this September 26 and producers are bringing in a new cast member.

According to Screen Crush, Amber Tamblyn will be a regular in the popular sitcom. The series will be on air on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m.

Tamblyn will be playing Charlie's daughter, whom his family never knew about. In case you are already considering an Ashton – Amber connection, rumor has it that Tamblyn's character will be gay.

“She’s somewhat of a chip off the old block,” creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre says.

He believes that she would fit right in with the concept and the rest of the cast.

“She’s having a good time and doesn’t care about the destruction left behind her. Decadence from the other side felt long overdue,” he says.

Lorre previously made headlines for firing Charlie Sheen, who was seen as the embodiment of the show.

As we wrote at the time, he explained that Sheen's cocaine problem had prompted the decision.

“You can’t do that much cocaine and work. I didn’t want to be writing a sitcom while my friend died. Or worse, hurt someone else. We couldn’t be complacent. There was a tragedy unfolding right in front of us.

“There was violence and blackouts. On a certain level, if you’re looking the other way, you’re responsible. It was falling apart. It was heartbreaking to be around here then,” Lorre said.

He added that he even chose to resign at the time, just to keep the series alive.

“I offered to quit the show last winter. I said, ‘Listen, if for some reason I'm now the Antichrist I'm happy to leave. It's not in my interest to stop the show, and I certainly don't want to put all these people out of work’,” he noted.
