14 DAY TRIAL // Not every showbiz romance gets a happy ending, and that between glamor model / video vixen Amber Rose and rapper Wiz Khalifa is one of those. The famous couple is headed to Splitsville amid cheating allegations, just weeks after they celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary.
As if that weren’t scandalous enough, here’s more: there’s serious talk that Nick Cannon, who is said to be ending his own marriage right now, to diva Mariah Carey, is involved, and that he and Amber hooked up behind Wiz’s back.
No sign of trouble leading up to the news of Amber and Wiz’s split
During their time together, the two would often put on a very affectionate show, be it on the red carpet or out on the town, running errands together. Just recently, for instance, they celebrated their first year as husband and wife by releasing the first photos from their super-secret but star-studded wedding.
Wiz and Amber were, without exaggeration, one of the most adorable celebrity couples in showbiz and that’s mostly because they seemed genuinely in love and happy.
That is to say, no one had any idea there was trouble in paradise. Sure, there were some rumors that either she or he was sleeping around with randoms, but this is common fare when celebrities are involved.
A week or so ago, Nick Cannon said in an interview that he would like to manage Amber’s career – and this was just the spark needed to start a brand new rumor, that he and she were having an affair.
The split is new and very bitter
Presumably, word of this got back to Wiz, and judging by how quickly things escalated, a bit more than just that: he must have gotten some proof too. Or she did, of his cheating, depending on which rumor you choose to believe.
The bottom line is that Amber filed the divorce papers, pinning the date for the separation on Monday and citing the usual “irreconcilable differences” as cause for the split, TMZ reports.
“Amber is asking for full legal and physical custody of their 1-year-old son Sebastian. She's willing to give Wiz visitation,” the report further notes. She also mentions a prenup and says it’s valid, which mention could mean that the agreement is in Wiz’s favor and she’s not challenging it. It provides spousal support, but TMZ doesn’t say whether for her or for him.
Insiders claim that the split is very bitter, which, again, would point to infidelity as the cause for it. Wiz (real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz) and Amber have been together since 2011, just as she was getting off another highly-mediated romance with rapper Kanye West.
If that’s the case, expect more details to emerge in the following days.
