An Amber Alert has been issued for a man suspected of killing a woman and kidnapping her children. A photo of suspect James Lee Dimaggio has been attached to this news article.

He has been identified by the California Highway Patrol website. He is described as roughly 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 meters) tall and weighing about 150 pounds (68 kg). As you can observe in the photo, he has brown hair and brown eyes.

He has allegedly kidnapped 16-year-old Hannah Anderson and her brother, eight-year-old Ethan Anderson.

The kids disappeared from San Diego County and the suspect was seen driving off with them in a blue 2013 Nissan Versa. The vehicle is licensed in California with plate number 6WCU986.

According to Redding, witnesses have described that the man sought with the Amber Alert had been spotted in Red Bluff. He may have left the state of California.

A motorist reported the sighting, and he mentioned the vehicle going north on the I-5. He alerted California Highway Patrol yesterday night, on August 5.

Police believe that DiMaggio killed the children's mother, 44-year-old Christina Anderson, before abducting them.

“We believe if they are with DiMaggio that they are in danger,” Homicide Lt. Glenn Giannantonio told Fox 5 San Diego.

Her remains were found in a burnt down house in Lakeside, San Diego County. Firefighters also located a second body, that of a child, on the premises.

The body was recovered from a garage and it had also been burnt. The identity of the victim and a connection to the family have not been pinpointed as of yet.

“We’ve been out there ever since. We’ve done a lot of interviews. We’ve examined the scene forensically. We’ve recovered a lot of evidence,” Giannantonio adds.

Anderson and her son and daughter were living with DiMaggio in a home that he owned. Officers have conveyed the relationship between the man and woman as platonic.
