Today, Amazon announced plans to expand the reach of its Appstore for Android devices to users in almost 200 countries around the world in the coming months.

The storefront will be available in markets such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, India, South Africa, South Korea, Papua New Guinea, and Vatican City, the company announced.

Until now, the application store was accessible to users in countries such as the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Japan.

Amazon also sees this expansion as an opportunity for developers to reach more users with their applications and games, enabling them to see an increase in revenues.

In fact, the company announced that registered developers would have their Android apps automatically made available for download in the new markets, but that they can also opt out of it.
