Amazon and Microsoft are two industry players rumored to plan on bringing to shelves their own smartphones, but it seems that we might have a bit longer to wait for that to happen.

Jefferies analyst Peter Misek recently suggested that both companies had pushed back plans to launch these handsets, Business Insider reports.

“Our checks indicate that Amazon’s phone seems to have been delayed. Also the launch of the Surface phone from Microsoft has been pushed out,” he said.

Amazon’s Kindle phone was previously expected to land on shelves in mid-2013 with a price tag of $100-$200 (€75- €150) attached to it, but nothing has been confirmed so far.

As for Microsoft’s so-called Surface phone, rumors on it have started to emerge soon after the launch of Surface tablet PCs, but the company hasn’t confirmed any of them as of now.
