Amazon Web Services Integrates Check Point Security Solutions

Check Point Software Technologies reveal that their security gateways are now available to customers through Amazon Web Services. Firewall, intrusion prevention, application control, URL filtering, and other security systems are made available for companies to extend their security to the cloud.

“Infrastructure in the cloud is a reality,” said Oded Gonda, vice president of network security products at Check Point Software Technologies.

“As many businesses plan to manage their IT infrastructure in the cloud, it’s important to protect both cloud and on-premise infrastructure to ensure that all corporate assets remain secure. One of the best ways to achieve this is to enforce a consistent security policy across the organization.”

The popularity of cloud-based systems increased among enterprises, the large number of benefits such as cost savings and flexible computing power making these technologies a necessity for many.

The main problems with cloud infrastructures occur when it comes to securing them and that’s why security solutions providers race to offer services that protect a company on all levels, but at the same time allowing them to focus on the business objectives.

Amazon Cloud can be utilized by organizations such as educational institutions and online retailers to run production workloads and manage seasonal peaks in web traffic and customer orders, the products offered by Check Point reinforcing protection in the cloud.

“Security gateways in cloud environments are equally as important as they are in on premise locations, therefore unifying their policies and reporting capabilities in a centralized way are critical to ensuring both the security and compliance mandates of enterprises worldwide,” said Lawrence Pingree, research director at Gartner.

No additional hardware or management complexity is needed to deploy the new services and the software blades can be enabled with only a few clicks.

The pricing varies based on the existing software licensing, the product being available at any of Check Point’s global partners.
