The latest version allows users to choose system brightness in reader settings

Amazon’s Kindle application for Android devices has just received a major update that brings lots of new features and improvements.

When it comes to eReader apps, Kindle seems to be by far the most popular among Android users with more than 50 million downloads on Google Play Store.

In order to keep its users faithful, Amazon is improving its app as fast as possible with improvements, bug fixes, and sometimes, new features.

With the latest version of Amazon Kindle for Android, users can read books in immersive full-screen mode. However, this new features is only available for devices powered by Android 4.4 KitKat and up.

Another new feature introduced in the latest update is the option to control playback from the lock screen while audio is playing in the book. Also, users can now tap the bottom right corner of a page to lock orientation.

The update also adds the option to choose system brightness in reader settings and the possibility to navigate table of contents by sub chapter. Last but not least, the app enables users to pair it with Bluetooth devices.

You can now download Amazon Kindle for Android 4.6.0 for free via Google Play store. The application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
