We've been telling you a lot about wearables these days and with good reason, as they are virtually everywhere, all around us.

The odd thing is that customers don’t seem particularly taken with them; however, more and more smartwatches and fitness bands seem to be appearing out of nowhere, offering to help us make sense of our hectic lives.

And every major tech company out there with a sense of what’s going on around them has noticed the wearable trend and wants to have a piece of it. Even if it seems to us that the adoption of wearables doesn't happen fast enough, market watchers are expecting to see important growth in the near future.

Amazon.co.uk wants to be ahead of the wave, so from now on customers looking to add a wearable companion in their life can visit the Wearable Technology Store.

The store has been designed to incorporate almost any type of wearable device you can think of, so it’s not going to be smartwatches. So if you need something around your legs, arms, wrists or ankles, you can visit the store and see what’s up.

For the time being customers can choose from a selection of 100 products, including smart timepieces, fitness trackers, smart glasses and wearable cameras.

You’ll be able to scoop out anything from famous wearable makers like Samsung, Sony, Jawbone and the like, but also from startups like Basis and Misfit.

“The advances in wearable technology mean that customers can now charge their phone through their clothing, monitor their sleep patterns and even track their pets.”

“This new store allows customers to find whatever they are looking for in one place – whether that is tracking fitness, staying connected through smart watches or capturing every adventure with wearable cameras,” explained VP of EU Retail at Amazon, Xavier Garambois.

If you’re still undecided which wearable you should be purchasing, Amazon has also set up a Learning Center, so perspective buyers can find out more about products, images, reviews, in-depth buying guides and compatibility information

So be sure to check the guides before you purchase a wearable, especially since not all wearables are compatible with certain devices. For example, the Gear 2 smartwatch will only pair with Samsung smartphones and tablets, leaving out other products.

Back in April, Amazon US also introduced a similar service, and now a few months later the UK counterpart follows suit, which is to be expected. Happy wearable shopping!
