The new update that just became available reduces the headaches previously reported

Well, this was reasonably fast. Looks like the unfortunate tendency of the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet to bar users from the Android Market website has expired.

Or at least it will expire once the new update, 6.2.1, is installed.

We mentioned about a day and a half ago that, because of a hidden utility file called MarketIntentProxy.apk, Kindle Fire owners trying to access the Android Market website got redirected to the Amazon AppStore.

The new update stops this from happening, although users still won't be able to actually install the apps there.

This is because it isn't easy to associate a Kindle Fire with a Google account that can be used with Android Market.

Nevertheless, owners at least get to browse their options instead of constantly getting hyjacked and dumped in Amazon's own, far less populated app store, safer though it is for the device.
