We still don't know if the WiFi issues reported by many Fire users were fixed

Amazon kept up to its promise and it recently unveiled the 6.2.1 software update for the Kindle Fire which is supposed to fix some of the issues reported by users and improve the tablet’s performance.

After the update is done, users should be able to remove books, apps or other content from the carousel of recently used items on the home screen, setup up a password for turning on WiFi and also see an improvement in scrolling speed.

As Liliputing reports, it’s now also possible to remove the Amazon Facebook app (which is basically just a shortcut to Facebook’s mobile website) which comes pre-installed with the Fire.

The update will be pushed over-the-air to all the Fire’s with a working Internet connection, or can be downloaded manually from the Kindle Fire software update page.

So far we don’t know if the 6.2.1 update also includes a fix for the WiFi issues experienced by many Fire customers.
