Chromebooks might have been bashed and accused of not being more than Internet-bound machines, but despite all the controversy, they have been well accepted and liked in the Educational environment.

And since the Back-to-School season has kick started, popular retail giant Amazon has taken the opportunity to discount a bunch of Chromebook and Chromebox models. So if you’re a student or a parent and you were thinking of picking one up, now is your chance.

The good news is that you don’t need to have any educational email address or anything like that to be granted the discount, so even if we’re not exactly in your studying years anymore, you can still consider purchasing a Chromebook.

The discounts aren't all that grand and you can get around $20 / €15 to $40 / €30 off for most of the models, but products such as the HP 11-inch Chromebook have been discounted with $80 / €60 all the way down to $199 / €149.

From all the models available, we want to highlight the Acer C720P Chromebook which, unlike most Chromebooks out there, brings a touchscreen to the party. The device is currently available for pick-up at the price of $249 / €186.

The product offers an 11.6-inch display and takes advantage of the Intel Celeron 2944U chip platform. It can be fitted with either 2GB or 4GB of RAM and has 32GB of internal storage onboard. So if you feel that a touchscreen on a laptop is something you might benefit from, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for.

The Samsung Chromebook 2 is up for grabs for $378 / €282, and more demanding users will find this model appealing. The notebook boasts a 13.3-inch with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and runs on an Exynos 5 Octa 5800 2.0 GHz chip fitted with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

However, the biggest discount seems to apply to the HP Chromebook 11, which currently sells for just $199 / €149.

The notebook offers an 11.6-inch screen with the standard resolution (1366 x 758 pixels) and draws power form a Samsung Exynos 5250 processor clocked at 1.7GHz fitted with 2GB of DDR3L SDRAM.

The 14-inch HP Chromebook is also discounted and so are the two new ASUS Chromebook models with different screen sizes.

If you don’t feel like picking up a Chromebook, you can opt for the ASUS Chromebox or the HP one, which is offered in different colors.
