Amazon is dead set on grabbing a bigger piece of the digital music sales and it's going about it the same any big retail chain would, with massive discounts. Amazon has been offering some pretty good deals on popular albums, hoping that more people will choose it rather the Apple's iTunes.

But this latest offer is one of the biggest, Lady Gaga's newest album, Born This Way, is selling for $0.99. And Amazon is reminding potential customers that buying this, or any, album from the site means that they get 20 GB of free storage for a year on Amazon's Cloud Drive.

The latest Lady Gaga album is being offered with a $12.87 rebate, the entire thing is just $0.99, just as much as you would pay if you'd want any of the 14 individual tunes from the album. The same album from Apple's iTunes is $11.99.

Considering that Amazon pays about 70 percent of what it would normally get for a song to the record labels, the company is clearly losing money with every album sale.

But it's a good strategy for the company, on the one hand, the hope is that people buying the new album may also buy other, non-discounted tracks or something else entirely from Amazon.

It may also get people more accustomed to buying from the Amazon MP3 Store and coming back more often.

On the other hand, the offer also works as a great ad for Amazon's latest cloud products. Cloud Drive offers a way for users to store any files, including music, online.

Normally, you get 5 GB of free storage, but if you buy a MP3 album from Amazon, you get 20 GB for free for a year. Paying $0.99 for 20 GB of storage is a bargain even if you don't care that much for Lady Gaga's music.
