Computer users interested in buying an Ultrabook laptop can now take advantage of a new Amazon promotion that offers them a $100 US (about 76 EUR) discount on a wide series of ultra-thin notebooks sold by the retailer.

The rules of the promotion are available right on Amazon’s website (link here), but basically users will get a $100 gift card that can be immediately put towards the purchase of one of the Ultrabooks available for the discount.

Amazon offers quite a wide range of models that clients can choose from, with prices starting at $828.00 (629 EUR) and going all the way up to $1,499.99 (roughly 1,140 EUR).

For $828.00 ($728 after the discount), Amazon shoppers will get the Toshiba Portege Z835 Ultrabook, which is one of the cheapest Intel ULV powered ultra-thin’s around.

The model that is listed by the US-based retailer is built around a 13.3-inch screen and gets its power from a 1.4GHz Intel Core i3 processor seconded by 4GB of system memory.

Storage is provided by a 128GB solid state drive, and the Z835 also packs the standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit LAN connectivity, a 1.3MP webcam, as well as a single USB 3.0 port. The video output configuration includes HDMI, VGA and mini-DP connectors.

All of these are housed inside an elegant case measuring a mere 15.9mm (0.6 inches) in thickness, which is constructed from magnesium alloy and aluminum.

Users who require a larger screen can also opt for HP’s Envy 14 Ultrabook, while those of you who seek a more portable solution can go for the Asus Zenbook UX21 11.6-inch ultra-thin.

Other options include the Asus Zenbook UX31, HP Folio 13, a couple of Samsung Series 5 notebooks, the Acer Aspire S3 or the Lenovo U300s.
