Amazon has released a new version of its iOS client which includes notifications on holiday gifts and package with delivery alerts, bug fixes, new multi-touch gestures for iPad users, and more.
Users of the Amazon Mobile app on iOS can now keep track of their holiday gifts and packages with delivery alerts. Customers must simply enable push notifications in Settings and they’ll instantly start receiving alerts on when their package ships from Amazon and when it’s delivered.
The app also pushes out a daily notification for lightning deals, says Amazon. Some bug fixes and performance improvements are also incorporated in the release for iPhone and iPod touch.
On the iPad, the updated universal app also enables pinching gestures (or double tap) to zoom in on product images. Amazon Mobile requires iOS 4.3 or later and works with pretty much all iDevices from Apple.
